Bonding

Composite tooth bonding is a cosmetic dentistry technique that can work wonders for your smile. Using materials that match the shade, translucency and texture of your teeth we can close tooth gaps, cover spots and other discolorations, repair chips, and, in general, enhance your self - confidence through the improved appearance of your smile. It's also great for an instant repair of a broken front tooth. Tooth bonding is usually a one-visit procedure. The tooth is prepared by etching with a gel the area to be repaired, usually without an anesthetic. Subsequently the tooth is repaired with the application of bonding agents and the bonding material itself.

Tooth Whitening

We have several options for tooth whitening, depending on your personal situation. We always require that teeth be cleaned of all tartar and plaque so we are not whitening the tartar, but rather the teeth. If you decide you would like to go beyond your normal day to day routine to make your smile look brighter, you should investigate your options for whitening teeth.
The two most common approaches to whiten your smile are in-office (chair-side) and at-home tooth whitening. The main advantage of having Dr. Blass supervise your teeth whitening procedure is that he can help determine if tooth whitening should be performed and if it will be effective for you. Patients with decayed teeth, infected gums, white spots on their teeth, and multiple tooth colored fillings or crowns (caps) on the front teeth may not be good candidates for tooth whitening.

Porcelain Crowns

Crowns are a wonderful and effective way to repair and strengthen badly damaged teeth. Crowns are also recommended when a tooth has had a root canal.
Crowns may vary from all "metal" to all "porcelain". An examination by Dr. Blass will determine which one is best for your condition. A dental crown on a front tooth is desired when a good portion of tooth structure is missing on account of large old fillings or tooth decay, or tooth decay, or even the biting edge is missing. In the front of the mouth, you will want a porcelain crown that looks exactly like a tooth. If done by skilled dentist, it will be very difficult for people to tell that it isn't real.

David M. Blass, DMD

Dr. Blass has been in private practice since 1981 during which time he served on the faculty of Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. In January 1997, he relocated his original practice to its present location at 222 Cedar Lane, Teaneck, NJ.
Dr. Blass completed his undergraduate studies at Yeshiva University in 1975 where he earned his B.A. cum laude. In 1979 he received his D.M.D. degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University Dental School and subsequently did a general practice residency at Englewood Hospital.
In his commitment to continuing education, Dr. Blass is actively pursuing a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD).
